Who this page is for
You already run something on OVH and the October invoice might move. Typical VPSDoge case: a small SaaS backend on Public Cloud, or a dedicated box you treat as the production host. This is not a “should I buy OVH” ranking, and it is not a GPU rental note.
If you are on Hetzner, Vultr, DigitalOcean, or a cheap yearly KVM, this date is not your bill. If you generate frames on SaladCloud, that is a different reprice on a different page.

OVH published the Public Cloud model and the instance-by-instance grid in late August, and the dedicated existing-customer renewal rule in mid-August. The hard public cutoff they name is 1 October 2026. Numbers below are copied from those posts. We do not invent a “typical SaaS %” on top.
Checklist before 1 October
- Name the product. Public Cloud instance, dedicated server, or something else. OVH VPS as a separate catalogue line is not what these two posts reprice. If the Manager row is not B3/C3/R3 or a named Gen 2024/2026 dedicated range, stop guessing.
- Write down the renewal date. Public Cloud unbundle hits 1 Oct even mid-commitment. Dedicated existing servers change on the renewal on or after 1 Oct, not automatically at midnight.
- Count public IPv4s. From 1 Oct, OVH bills a public IPv4 as its own line on Public Cloud (same rate they already use for Floating IP). Private-only instances and a single gateway are the lever they document.
- Count local disk. Gen3 local NVMe leaves the instance price and becomes Local Low Latency storage. Flex keeps 50 GB local regardless of size. B2/C2/R2 and earlier still include local storage.
- Read the Savings Plan, not the slogan. Old plan: instance price + discount % stay until expiry; storage and IP are extra from 1 Oct. New grid: 12 months −15% or 36 months −30% on compute only. 1 / 6 / 24-month terms stop.
- On dedicated, separate base from options. Live Gen 2024/2026 base matches the equivalent new-server price after 11 August 2026. Installed RAM and storage options use a softer existing-customer scale than a new order.
- Open OVH’s tables for your SKU. Do not average the blog headlines onto a box they did not list.
Public Cloud: what unbundles on 1 October
OVH’s line is: the calculated (compute) price stays unchanged; local storage and public IPv4, previously included on Generation 3, become separate billable lines. For the same configuration, they publish a total increase of 1.4% to 21.9%, heavier on small sizes because storage is capped at 400 GB and the IPv4 is a fixed amount.

Bookends from OVH’s own no-commitment table (730 hours / month, current local capacity): c3-4 33 € → 41 € (+21.9%); r3-1024 3 092 € → 3 137 € (+1.4%). Flex keeps a 50 GB local disk, so the added euro line is smaller as the instance grows — OVH’s example: b3-64-flex +2.3% vs standard b3-64 +14.9%.
Schedule they published: website prices late August 2026 → new Savings Plan grid 1 September 2026 → local storage and IPv4 billed separately 1 October 2026.
Worked Savings Plan example in the same post: a 12-month plan taken 1 July 2026 at −35% on the instance stays at 44 € compute through June 2027, but from October 2026 they add 12 € for storage + IPv4 (56 € total) even though the commitment is still running. That −35% is their example, not a rate we are applying to every old plan.
Dedicated Gen 2024 / 2026: renewal reprice
New-order memory/storage options already moved on 1 July 2026. New-order server configuration prices already moved on 11 August 2026. The existing-customer event still ahead is 1 October 2026: new rates apply to servers already running, on the subscription renewal date.
Affected: Advance (Gen 2024 and 2026), Game (Gen 2026), Scale and High Grade (Gen 2024 and 2026). Not affected (OVH’s words): Kimsufi, So you Start, Rise, and generations before Gen 2024.
Live servers: base configuration costs the same as the equivalent new server after the 11 August increase. Installed memory and storage options keep a lower existing-customer scale:

OVH’s own configured examples at renewal vs current rate (not a VPSDoge estimate): ADVANCE-1 Gen 2024 with extra RAM and disks 189,99 € → 230,79 € (+21.5%) at renewal, vs 326,99 € (+72.1%) as a new order; ADVANCE-1 Gen 2026 configured 204,99 € → 289,49 € (+41.2%) at renewal. Outstanding commitment: nothing changes until it ends; the new price applies on the next renewal. OVH says a prepaid subscription can lock the current rate for the chosen period.
What this is not
- Not the SaladCloud GPU subsection on VPS for AI video. Different vendor, different date (12 September 2026), different unit (GPU-hour vs OVH instance/server).
- Not a reason to resize RAM for a SaaS app. The 4GB if the database shares the box rule does not change because OVH unbundled a disk line.
- Not a licence to quote a made-up “average OVH hike”. If your SKU is not in OVH’s table, say you do not know.
